priceless

My daughter and I have a message for oppressed women around the world: You are priceless.

Today, on the other side of the world, a woman woke up having no idea she was anything to shout about.

Considering the way he treated her, the way her boss looks at her, all she’s ashamed of, and the money she doesn’t have for a bank account (if she had one)–she’s had too many messages to the contrary.

You are worthless.

This is why we step into the stories of women around the world. We can be a voice to let her know:

You are not forgotten.

You are valuable.

You are priceless.

Today, a bunch of us are joining hands around this third rock, raising money for four nonprofits. These organizations empower women in oppression and poverty on this global giving day. (This includes Mercy House Global, the nonprofit of my friend and fellow blogger, Kristen Welch.)

Every woman everywhere deserves to know she’s loved and valued by the God who created her. Like a treasured pearl, she is priceless.

A pearl is a healed wound. An oyster protects itself from irritation and suffering.

The result? A priceless pearl.

Tell women around the world they are not commodities to be bought and sold. Tell them thay’ve been paid for by the precious blood of Christ. He states over and over to them–to her–You are worth it. (See my hands?)

Tell her she’s priceless.

Two Ways You Can Help

  1. Put on your pearls for a “selfless selfie” (#putonyourpearls). You can share images, too, from SheIsPriceless.org.
  2. Go to SheIsPriceless.org to donate to four organizations working relentlessly to tell her, “We see you, and you are not alone. He is with you.”
